Providing machinery, spare parts and engineering services since 1945

Samuel Bradley first founded the company in 1945 and started trading as a dyestuff and chemical merchant, using knowledge gained from working with various German dyestuff companies from 1919 until the outbreak of the Second World War.

From 1945, until the early 60s the company traded well, until declining sales forced a move into textile machinery sales, as agents for various European and American principals. By 1967 all activities in the dyestuff business had ceased, although sales of detergents, bleaching chemicals and textile auxiliaries from Chemische Fabrik Tubingen continued for another seven years until they opened their own UK sales office.

In 1978, Artos, a market leader in stenter and wash range manufacturing, appointed Samuel Bradley Machinery Sales as their agent. A year later Artos merged with Famatex (their largest competitor) to form Babcock Textilmaschinen GmbH.

In 1980 the company became agents for Stork Brabant of Holland and twelve years later were invited to extend their area of activity to include the CAD/ CAM and digital print systems of Stork STK and Stork Colour Proofing.

From that time, we have further strengthened our position in the market place representing established companies such as Bianco, Comet, Optitexma and Biancalani. and today we represent many companies supplying equipment to the dyeing, finishing and printing industries.

In 2003, following the break up of Babcock Textilmaschinen, we were appointed agents for Bruckner Trockentechnik GmbH, Germany, who have a well established reputation for supplying stenter and drying equipment to the textile, carpet coating & non woven industries.

In continuing the success of our business we have recently attained the agency of Christoph Burckhardt AG, manufacturers of perforating and fibrillating units.

Today the company is involved in sales, engineering services, spares parts and consumable supplies, secretarial, administration and accounting. Many European Principals are now represented, all offering equipment and services into the textile, floor covering and wall covering market and also, new to us, the perforating and fibrillating industries.

Over the years Samuel Bradley has built a good reputation as a reliable partner in business and is recognised today as one of the leading machinery sales agents in the UK.

Our company’s aim is to advise on the sale of new equipment to suit our customer’s individual requirements. We also provide an efficient after-sales service combined with engineering and technical support.
